So, it's random post from Terri time! Woohoo.
-I've come to realize that the workplace is kind of like high school in that all of the same cliques are there. Jocks, overachievers, loners -- all of those groups still exist. These distinctions are especially obvious during lunch in the cafeteria. The young, pretty, blonde girls sit with the other young, pretty, blonde girls; the men in their polo shirts sit together at the big table in the middle and laugh loudly as they discuss the latest Red Sox game; and then, in the corner, sits the one socially awkward guy, eating alone again and avoiding all eye contact. I expected cliques, but I didn't expect them to be so cliched.
-We finally bought some fish! We got four zebra fish and named them Vito Corleone (the big, bully fish that I think is actually pregnant), Snarf, Donatello, and What's Her Face. What's Her Face was the small, awkward one with the crooked back that ended up dying about three days later. We think she ate a heaping bowl of staple sauce. The other fish are doing well, though.
-I finished watching "Buffy" Season 7 today. So good. Luckily, I don't have to be too sad that it's over, because we just subscribed to Netflix. Speaking as someone who doesn't have a car, the thought of having DVDs delivered to the door is really exciting. After only two days, we already have over 50 movies in our queue, including Da Hip Hop Witch, Kill Cruise, and Eye of the Beholder. We got our first three disks today: A Very Long Engagement, and the first season of "Entourage", a show about a newly famous guy and his friends. I love that insider Hollywood stuff, so I'm really psyched to watch it.
-Will's sister, Glenna, and her husband, Aaron, visited us yesterday. It was a fun night filled with playing the game of Life, playing poker and listening to the new Gwen Stefani album, which is even worse than I thought it would be.
-I got new clothes today! Actually, I ordered them online about a week ago, but they came today. Tomorrow, Harry Potter 6 will come right to my door, and then I will spend the rest of the weekend obsessively reading it. I'm so excited! Is there anything better than online shopping? How can I not love something that allows me to be so lazy?
-Why is it that, whenever someone in a movie or tv show dies, whoever is investigating always feels the need to point out to the suspect that the deceased had some amount of children, usually three or four? So, when people with children die, it's sadder than when other people die? Those other people just don't matter because they don't have little ones? Thanks, media, for teaching us all another valuable lesson.
So, that's all I've got for now. Have a good night all!
